For vehicle owners and workshops, three problems return on every fleet: wheelset quality and availability, wheel noise that limits where and when a vehicle may run, and friction materials that must perform consistently across the brake system.
Kampa answers them with a selected partner range: forged wheels and axles from Lucchini RS, cardan shafts from GEWES, forged crane wheels, tuned VICON RASA wheel dampers from Schrey & Veit, and friction materials from Wabtec. We distribute, advise and support these products in the Benelux with the same engineering approach as our own developments.
Partner: Lucchini RS Wheels & axles
Forged train wheels in diameters from 360 to 1290 mm, manufactured to EN 13262 and available in a range of materials. They are forged from vacuum-degassed 42CrMo5 steel and heat-treated for a uniform tread hardness with a tough core, resistant to pitting and spalling.

Partner: GEWES Cardan shafts
Cardan shafts and universal-joint shaft assemblies for rail vehicles, supplied in collaboration with Gelenkwellenwerk Stadtilm GmbH (GEWES). GEWES builds roller-bearing-mounted universal joint shafts to a high quality standard, with a broad range tailored to the application.

Forged crane wheels in 42CrMo5 steel, heat-treated for a hard running surface. Kampa supplies and supports them in the Benelux.

Partner: Schrey & Veit VICON RASA wheel dampers
VICON RASA wheel dampers are fixed to the areas of a solid wheel that vibrate the most. Individually tuned combinations of metal and elastomer plates generate a counterforce that converts the vibration into heat, damping both rolling noise and curve squeal.

Partner: Wabtec Wabtec friction materials
Composite K and LL brake blocks replace cast-iron blocks on freight wagons, including the first LL composite block worldwide to gain UIC approval. Composite blocks keep the wheel tread smoother, so rolling noise drops substantially. Retrofitting wagons with quieter brake blocks is cheaper noise control than line-side barriers.
